A quick story about how we got here…
Almost 30 years ago, with not a lot of business experience (but a lot of passion for food) Katy Lesser embarked on a surprising journey. Educated as an English teacher and trained as a psychotherapist, Katy somehow found her way to buying a tiny, struggling health food store. The natural foods industry was barely an industry at that point, and the going was rough. But thanks to her love of food, dedication to her community, and tenacious spirit, Katy held on and slowly grew from 1,200 square feet, to 2,400, 5,000, 7,500 and finally in 2009, 35,000 (!!)
where we are currently happily serving our community and providing 150 jobs! Our new store in Saratoga Springs, NY is slated to open winter of 2013. Katy is now joined by her son, Eli, and daughter, Nina, who share in the ownership of the company.
Why we do what we do.
We love providing our community with great food, supporting our beloved local farmers, and creating excellent jobs for people. We love serving all those connected to our business, whether it’s our staff, our customers, our or truck drivers. Real service is what it’s all about!
